Antibes nocturnes | Sep 9 - 11, 2014
Shortly after submitting my PhD thesis and with a brand new Nikon D810 -bought as a gift by Yanyan- in hand, I embarked on a trip to Southern France and then Greece. First stop, Antibes. A charming little town on the mediterranean. The sights, the architecture, the people's manners, the 'air' of the town created very familiar, warm and welcoming feelings to me. Here are a few photos taken at night, after the end of the conference activities. In fact, those are the very first photos taken with the D810 on field. I can say it was a sheer pleasure snapping photos like these with the ISO set to values higher than 2000!
PS: The town of Antibes (and as such France as a country) honours the great Greek author Niko Kazantzaki who lived and wrote some of his greatest works there.
